Festival Volunteers

 

Interested in Theatre but not as an actor, playwright, or director? The Very Useful Theatre Company is seeking Volunteers to support the third annual One-Act Play Festival.  Let us know how much time you have, we are seeking all levels of support, a few hours once or a full Festival support position.

No experience necessary!

We support High School Volunteer hours as well.

Playwright, Jim Geoghan
Jim Geoghan is an American television producer. He is the executive producer of the two time Emmy Nominated Disney Channel’s The Suite Life on Deck and the original The Suite Life of Zack and Cody. He is a 1969 graduate of the New York Institute of Technology.
Only Kidding ran off Broadway for 2 years and was nominated for two Drama Desk Awards. Light Sensitive published by Samuel French, nominated for the Joseph Jefferson Award in Chicago. Two Gentlemen of Corona, LA Ovation Award winner.
Director, Dale Sheldrake
Dale has spent over 30 years in film and television as an ADR Supervisor, working closely with the incredible writers and actors on productions including Vikings, The Tudors, The Borgias, Penny Dreadful, and The Handmaid’s Tale. He’s won several awards including Gemini, Genie, Canadian Screen Award, Golden Reel, DGC Award and multiple Emmy nominations. He is also an accomplished playwright, poet, songwriter, screenwriter, documentarian, filmmaker, singer and musician.
Bruce Williamson as Warren
Bruce has appeared most recently at Theatre Aurora as Antonio in Much Ado About Nothing, and in Spring Awakenings, as well as a number of InspiraTO productions including High School Intafada, Call Raul, We’re Writing You Up at The Alumnae Theatre. His other theatre pursuits include writing, producing, directing, and performing with a variety of other theatre companies in Durham and York Region.
Jamie Sheridan as the Polar Bear
After a long time away Jamie is really excited to be back at the Old Town Hall. Working on Warren and the Polar Bear has been a lot fun and transforming into a Polar Bear has been interesting. Who knows - this could be the beginning of a run of animal roles!! As always; remember theatre is much cheaper than therapy! (Arsenic and Old Lace; Whose Under Where?; Jitters; Last Of the Red Hot Lovers; The Odd Couple)
