OUR HEARTS ARE FILLED WITH SORROW AFTER HEARING THE NEWS
The bigger-than-life Jacque Bayley suddenly passed away this past weekend, with her family by her side. We are saddened by the sudden departure of our dear friend, she was greatly loved, respected and admired. We would like to extend our deepest heartfelt sympathy to her Family, may the memories keep you going...
Jacque and her late husband operated the highly-successful, ‘Theatre on Main’, which saw a myriad of eclectic plays put on over its 11 year life span. It drew thousands of patrons from far and wide for its many memorable performances. Theatre on Main is now part of Main Street folklore.
In 1993, Jacque’s late husband, Ross Bayley, and John Dowson, co-founded the venerable Very Useful Theatre Company with a vision of Theatre helping Community Help itself!
Jacque carried on the VUTC's vision after her husband's passing as Chair and leading force in the very successful and well received annual -Dramatic Reading of CBC's, Charles Dickens’ A Christmas Carol
At the time of her passing Jacque was a vocal Director of the Very Useful Theatre Company having served as Vice-President the previous year – carrying on the tradition of serving started by her late husband, Ross.
The Very Useful Theatre Company will dedicate this year’s Dramatic Reading of A Christmas Carol this December at New Hope Methodist Church in her memory.
There will be a Celebration of Jacque’s Life at her home on 202 Bristol Road, Newmarket Sunday April 29th between 1 and 4 pm. That’s all the news we have at the present, we will update when more info becomes available.

VUTC Supports Rotary Club of Newmarket
The Very Useful Theatre Company was thrilled to present the Newmarket Rotary Club with a cheque for $975.42 which is the final installment of a payment totaling $1,525.42 from the VUTC to the Rotary Club of Newmarket, which will go back into the community. The Rotary Club of Newmarket partnered with the VUTC in putting on the Newmarket Festival of One-Act Plays and any monies raised were split with the Rotary Club.
