Interested in Theatre but not as an actor, playwright, or director? The Very Useful Theatre Company is seeking Volunteers to support the third annual One-Act Play Festival.  Let us know how much time you have, we are seeking all levels of support, a few hours once or a full Festival support position.

No experience necessary!

We support High School Volunteer hours as well.

A Little Something for the Ducks is a story of a chance meeting in a park of two seniors which leads to a zestful, youthful courtship. As they discuss the rights and wrongs of feeding ducks they put their moves on each other in a minuet that is a joy to behold.

Kay Valentine

Director 

Kay has been involved in community theatre for nearly 40 years. In that time she has acted, directed, produced, stage-managed and anything else non-technical that was needed. She was a founding member of South Shore Little Theatre and The Old Town Hall Players. Some of her favorite roles were on this stage: Ouiser in Steel Magnolias, Magda in The Night of January 16th. and Abby in Arsenic and Old Lace. Presently she is a member of The Newmarket Stage Company and The Curtain Club in Richmond Hill.

Frank

Johnston

Frank has enjoyed community theatre for nearly 30 years. Most of his involvement was as a crew member; those people who you never seen but are essential to all productions. He has appeared on stage in more than 20 productions at the Old Town Hall, Theatre Aurora and The Curtain Club. Some of his favourite stage moments were in “Lovers and Other Strangers”, “The Good Doctor”, “Greetings”, “Painting Churches”, “Just for You” and “The Drawer Boy”. He is a member of the Newmarket Stage Company.
